I began my herbal apprentice in 2001, after the death of my 13 year old neice. All during her treatment I kept thinking there has to be a better way. I also have 5 children and worried about the effects of pharmaceuticals, especially anti- biotics, on them. I began by reading books and taking classes when I could find them. I was very fortunate to find my Teacher, Shawn Schultz, RA, HT and took a seven year apprentice ship with Shawn. The loss of my niece followed shortly by the death of my Grandmother, led me to also seek some training to explain why I could sometimes talk to them. This led to many classes and tainings with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and I eventually began sharing what I learned. I have been very fortunate in finding the teachers that presented themselves. In May of 2016, I completed Sandra Ingerman's Two-Year Teacher Training in Shamanic Journeying, Healing, and Medicine for the Earth. I enjoy my work and am happy to share my knowledge with those seeking healing. I live on a farm in upstate NY, grow most of the medicine that I use as well as food for my family and friends. We rescue animals and are very involved in Community life.. Please call 518-843-6293 for an appointmet or send an e-mail through the contact link.

Leiah Bowden - Intuitive Artist and Animal Communicator

leiah-and-rosie.jpg

Leiah Bowden is a lifelong meditator, self-taught, intuitive artist and visionary. She accesses a realm where our souls are unveiled, and from within a light trance state, creates these spiritual Energy Portraits in pastels as commissioned works of art and healing tools. Each Energy Portrait comes with guidance from the subject's and Leiah's higher Self, angelic being, and off-planet intelligence.

In addition to serving as individual tools for healing and personal growth, these remarkable images illustrate the shamanic origin of  the crowns, helmets, headresses, and other ritual and costume elements that have come down to us from ancient civilizations.

Suzanna Van Schoonhoven Hunter

Ceramic Artist
suzannahunter@yahoo.com

I was born in N.Y.C. in 1958 and moved to Southeastern Pennsylvania when I was about seven. I grew up in the suburbs experimenting with every art medium possible. I have always been an artist; Clay just makes me very happy.

I Graduated from Kutztown University, Kutztown PA in 1981 with a BFA. I have been teaching ceramics and art to children and adults. I was the Classes Coordinator, and a founding member of a local non-profit art group and for twenty-three summers I ran a ceramics program for eight hundred children at a day camp in Pennsylvania.

My husband and I moved to Duanesburg in 2006. I am busy working on our house, the organic food and flower gardens, building some rock walls, teaching some art classes and making new clay work. I am enjoying living ten minutes away from my sister, her husband and my two young nieces. I have two acres of land, a beautiful view, country air, and new inspiration. I am very happy to be back in NY.

You can find some of Suzanna's work for sale in our store. Also, keep an eye on our calendar for workshops that she is teaching!

Michele Lyons

Medium - Reiki Practitioner - Bag piper - Natural skin care products
MLyons.PM@gmail.com 518-573-3145

michellelyons-small.jpgI was born in the Albany area and have lived in various parts of the Capital Region ever since. I find the region to be culturally rich and very inspiring for my work. I currently live in Colonie with my husband, three children, and numerous pets.

My education is varied, but has directed me to my present life’s work which I consider my true calling. I graduated from SUNY Cobleskill with an AAS degree in Agricultural Sciences and Animal Husbandry specializing in horses. After working full time for a year as Veterinarian Assistant, I went back to school and Graduated from SUNY Albany with a BA in English/Archeology and a MA in Linguistic Anthropology. I am a certified Reiki Master, a certified riding instructor, and have taught bag piping to many students over the years.

I am a Medium - I communicate with people in spirit and offer insight into people’s lives. Please provide photos of any people (living or in spirit) that you have questions about, as well as a list of questions you may have. Photos and questions help to facilitate the reading process. I do individual readings at my home in Colonie, and group (party) readings at the client's home. I book individual eadings during the week at 1PM and 6:30PM time slots, and group readings on weekends (Saturday & Sunday). Phone and Skype readings have a more varied schedule.

I offer Reiki healing which is a type of energy work. It is currently being used in hospitals and nursing homes. I personally have volunteered my Reiki services at local hospices and it has been some of the most rewarding work I have ever done. Reiki heals at the physical, emotional, and spiritual level. Receiving Reiki can bring about profound healing and a sense of well being.

I have played the bagpipes for over 15 years. I have been a member of two local pipe and drums band; The Albany Police Pipes and Drums & The Sons and Daughters of Erin. I have marched in countless parades and played at numerous memorial services and festivals. I volunteer my piping services at several annual memorials during Crime Victims Rights Week, including the Rensselaer County DWI Memorial and the Albany Crimes Victims Memorial in Academy Park. I currently play Weddings, Funerals, and Special occasions.

I make natural balms for the hands and body. I began by making belly balm for myself when I was pregnant with my first child. It relieved my itchy pregnant belly and may have prevented me from ever having stretch marks. I make the balm from all natural ingredients, organic when at all possible, and scent them with natural essential oils. Along with the ‘Belly Balm’, I also make ‘Kitchen Hands’ with lemon oil, ‘Elbow Grease’ for working hands, and ‘Peppermint Foot Balm’ for tired achy feet. Any of the balms can be made without the essential oils for those with sensitivities.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, pricing for products and services, or to schedule an appointment.

Patti as Gypsy Jean’s Inspirations

I, also, love working with my hands creating things and started making jewelry as a hobby. I work mainly with shell, bone, wood, gemstone, and feather. I have an indigenous inspired theme to most of it due to the cultural influences in New Mexico and my historical and spiritual connection in my ancestral lineages.

I have been expanding my craft work to encompass soap making (I love natural soaps), and working with wild feathers that I (mostly, some are gifts from friends who also gather while they walk) gather on my walks. No feathers are collected unless they have been gifted by the birds. I use leather skins with the feathers to make feather fans and medicine bags.logo-gypsyjeans.jpg

You can find some of Patti's work for sale in our store. Also, keep an eye on our calendar for workshops that she is teaching!
