There is an opportunity to arrive Thursday evening. The charge for the night is $60. There will not be any food service available until the conference begins on Friday evening. You are welcome to bring your own and there are many restaurants nearby.

Meal Accommodations/Preferences:

There will be a good variety of food at this event. There is an $8.00 charge per meal for special requests. Allergies will be noted at mealtime for your information. Refrigeration is available for people bringing special food or medication.

Things to know about Windover: 

Overnight guests should bring twin-sized sheets and blankets, bath and beach towels, flashlight, mosquito repellant and sun screen. We have additional sheets, plus quilts and pillows that people can "rent." If sheets are used, we ask folks to contribute $5.00 towards laundering.

Facilities MUST BE CLEANED thoroughly before departure. This includes sweeping and mopping of floors, dusting, vacuum of rugs, clearing out all garbage, washing dishes, clearing out fridges used, wiping down mirrors and trash removal. This includes all bathrooms, studios, the kitchen and all the cabins. 

Rockport has curfew laws. NO LOUD NOISE AFTER 10:00 P.M.

Amplified music requires special permission. Outdoor lights off by 10:30pm.

No pets. 

Here are some useful guidelines for overnight accommodations of guests:

Windhover is based on community involvement and co-operation. We have no maid service, so we need you to keep your space, the studios, cabins, bathrooms and the grounds as clean as you found them. Trash should be kept in the wastebaskets provided. All food and garbage should be stored in containers in the barn and closed up and sealed at night. When trash bags are filled, they should be tied and brought to the shed near the field for removal to the Town dump (transfer station).

We are a ‘non-conforming use’ in a residential area where people value peace and quiet—the sounds of the sea and birds. Please keep the noise level down, especially after 9:30 pm with music off no later than 10:00pm. Please turn off the main barn outdoor light by 10:30pm.

Smoking is hazardous to others and to the environment. Windhover is a non-smoking facility (Although, there is a designated smoking area away from cabins and facility spaces).

Please save energy by turning off lights, fans, and water when not needed. Use of hairdryers is not encouraged and should be used only when fans are shut off … i.e. during the day only. There is limited electricity to service the property, so please be aware of this and do not use heaters or air conditioners without prior approval. Fans are inside of each cabin and studio spaces.

Mostly, enjoy your stay on beautiful Cape Ann, which abounds in woods, quarries, ocean, harbors, granite ledges, sea and shore birds, whales, fish, historical sites, unique houses—and other wonders too numerous to mention. Halibut Point State Park is within easy walking distance from Windhover. Trails along the ocean and the fresh water quarry are beautifully preserved there, and many seabirds flock there all year long. You may even see some seals or whales from the point.

Quarry swimming is prohibited at Halibut Point as well as on Cape Ann with one exception, which is Little Parker Pit on Rowe Avenue. Greenbelt now owns this property but parking is difficult there, unless you pay a small fee at Granite Pier and walk up the hill.
